How it works

A front desk that knows your pharmacy.

Method Voice works from your pharmacy's own information and procedures. Here's what happens on a call, and what it takes to get started.

On every call

What the patient experiences.

1 · Greeting

Answered right away, in your name

No hold music and no phone tree. The caller hears your pharmacy's greeting and is told they're speaking with an automated assistant. Calls can be recorded if your pharmacy chooses, with notice to the caller.

2 · Understanding

It works out why they're calling

Callers speak normally: "Is my prescription ready," "Where's my order," "What time do you close." The assistant identifies the request and whether the caller is the patient, a family member or caregiver, or a prescriber's office.

3 · Confirming identity

Nothing is shared until the patient is confirmed

For anything about a specific patient, it confirms identity using the details your pharmacy requires, such as date of birth. Family members and caregivers are held to stricter rules, and patient privacy restrictions are always respected.

4 · Answering

Clear answers from your pharmacy's information

It checks the current status and tells the patient in plain language: ready for pickup, still being processed, out for delivery, or needs a call from the pharmacy. If the information isn't current or clear, it says so and gets a person.

5 · Handoff

Clinical questions go straight to your pharmacist

Medication questions, controlled substances, anything urgent, or a caller who just wants a person: the assistant collects a callback number and transfers the call. Your pharmacist sees who's calling and why before picking up.

6 · Follow-up

Every call is logged for your team

You get a summary of each call: who called, what they needed, and what happened. After hours, requests are queued for the next business day.

Who's calling

Different callers, different rules.

Patients

Once confirmed, patients can check status, ask about deliveries, request refills, and get general pharmacy information.

Family and caregivers

Must name the exact medication and pass your authorization rules. The assistant never lists a patient's medications to a caller.

Prescriber offices

General questions are answered from approved information. New prescriptions and patient-specific questions go to staff.

Getting started

From first call to live, step by step.

We start small, review everything together, and only expand when your team is comfortable.

Discovery

We learn your most common calls, your procedures, and who should get which transfers.

Setup

We connect to your pharmacy system, load your hours and policies, and your pharmacist approves what the assistant may say.

Pilot

The assistant handles a defined set of calls. We review every call with your team and adjust the wording and routing.

Go live

Once you're confident, we expand coverage and send a monthly report of the calls handled.

For your IT contact

What your systems need to know.

Your phone number stays the same

Calls are forwarded to Method Voice when you choose: all day, overflow only, or after hours. Transfers ring back to your pharmacy line or a staff queue.

Read-only, limited access

Method Voice reads only the status information needed to answer calls. It doesn't change prescriptions in your pharmacy system.

Encrypted and access-controlled

Patient information is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is restricted and logged, and retention follows your pharmacy's settings.

Your procedures, version-controlled

When your pharmacy updates a policy, the change is reviewed and approved before the assistant uses it, and every version is kept.
